A well-established business professional, with over 30 years experience in senior leadership roles in the private sector, Mr. Gakuha has an MBA from the Warwick Business School (United Kingdom) and a Chemical Engineering B.Sc. degree from the University of Bath (UK).
Born in Limuru, he acquired primary level education at Ruiru Primary School and high school education at Thika High School, proving that he is a true son of Kiambu County.
Gakuha deems Kiambu to be one very strategic county in Kenya due to its untapped potential and close proximity to the capital city of Nairobi. The working partnership of Hon Kabogo with Mr. Gakuha forges a solid foundation for visionary leadership and development prospects that will lead to a robust socio- economic transformation of the entire Kiambu County.
Gakuha has gained his leadership experience working in multinational companies both locally and internationally. Starting at Unilever and rising to Factory Manager in Kenya, having worked for the company in Research and Development in Holland. He then moved to Reckitt and Colman where he was Head of the Supply Chain. In 1998 he moved to SmithKline Beecham as Operations Director of the Nairobi site and then was promoted to Regional Director of Operational Excellence based in England. He then started his own business consultancy company where he was a key advisor to companies in both Europe and Africa. He has recently been the Managing Director for Group Supply and Group Supply Chain Director in East Africa Breweries. He has Board level experience in both Kenya and Uganda.
With proven skills and experience in strategic management, logistics and corporate leadership, Mr. Gakuha is equipped to provide leadership in the setting up of operational structures of Kiambu County.
